We are drawing enthousiasts. Among the participants are illustrators, cartoonists, visual artists and other amateurs. Many of us missed life drawing (since art school) or just wish to draw from life more often. That’s why we created the life drawing club. New participants interested in gesture sketching and figure drawing are welcome, whether experienced or not.
Everyone works independently – nobody teaches, but we are willing to give feedback when asked to. Most participants bring their own favourite drawing materials, but if you don’t have any, you can get some sketching/drawing paper and a (pressed) charcoal at purchase price.
Weekly sessions on Mondays or Fridays (19:30 – 22:00)
We alternately work with male and female nude life models. Poses are usually short – sometimes we start really short and then slow down gradually (according to the Fibonacci sequence: 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8 or 13 minutes).
Special sessions
Occasionally we want to experiment with other ways to draw:
- drawing two models (human interaction)
- drawing a model in slow motion
- facial expressions (portrait)
- draperies (long poses)
- playing with lights
